Do You Need a Singapore Visa?

Your Passport Nationality Matters

Not every visitor needs a Singapore entry visa. Visa requirements are based on the passport or travel document used for the journey.

Visa-Exempt Eligible Passports Can Travel Without Obtaining a Prior Singapore Visa
Visa-Required Listed Nationalities Must Obtain an Entry Visa Before Travel
UAE Citizens UAE Ordinary Passport Holders Do Not Currently Require a Visa for Social Visits
UAE residence does not determine Singapore visa exemption.

A foreign national living in the UAE should check the visa requirement for the passport or travel document they will use. Holding a UAE residence visa does not by itself make a visa-required nationality visa-free.

Visa-Required Travellers

Some Nationalities Must Obtain a Visa Before Travel

Singapore maintains a list of passports and travel documents whose holders require an entry visa. The requirement should always be checked before making an application.

Examples India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt & Jordan
Also Included Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan & Other Listed Nationalities
Special Documents Certain Refugee, Temporary & Other Travel Documents Also Require a Visa
Application Form

Form 14A Is a Core Part of the Visa Application

Visa-required tourists should prepare the Singapore Application for an Entry Visa, known as Form 14A, with accurate information matching the passport and travel plans.

01
Personal Details

Applicant information should match the passport and other supporting documents.

02
Travel Information

Complete the applicable purpose, travel and Singapore accommodation information accurately.

03
Applicant Signature

The applicant should sign the completed Form 14A where required.

Letter of Introduction

Form V39A May Apply to Your Application

Depending on your nationality and application circumstances, Singapore ICA may require a Letter of Introduction for Visa Application, known as Form V39A.

Document Form V39A — Letter of Introduction for Visa Application
Local Contact May Be Issued by an Eligible Singapore Local Contact Where Applicable
Case Specific Requirement Depends on Nationality and Application Circumstances
Photo Requirement

Your Visa Photograph Must Meet ICA Specifications

Singapore Visa Applications Use Authorised Submission Channels

Singapore's UAE missions provide authorised application routes for travellers who require a visa. The appropriate route depends on where and how the application is submitted.

Dubai Applications Are Handled Through Authorised Visa Processing Agents
Abu Dhabi Apply Through the Authorised Visa Agent or Eligible Singapore Local Contact
Singapore Contact Eligible Local Contacts Can Submit Applications Electronically Through ICA
Use an authorised submission route.

Singapore ICA does not accept tourist visa applications over immigration counters. UAE applicants should follow the official authorised-agent or eligible local-contact route applicable to them.

When to Apply

Prepare Your Visa Close to Your Travel Date

Singapore ICA currently advises visa-required visitors to apply within 30 days before their intended arrival in Singapore.

Application Window Apply Within 30 Days Before Intended Arrival
Standard Processing Generally 3 Working Days, Excluding Submission Day
Important Some Applications Can Take Longer
Do not rely on the minimum processing time.

ICA states that applications are generally processed within three working days, excluding the day of submission, but some cases may require additional processing time.

Singapore Entry Requirements

A Visa Is Only One Part of Your Travel Preparation

All visitors must satisfy Singapore's entry requirements at immigration, even when they already hold an approved visa.

01
Valid Passport

Foreign visitors should travel with an individually issued passport meeting Singapore's minimum validity requirement.

02
Onward Travel & Funds

Be prepared to satisfy immigration requirements relating to onward or return travel and sufficient funds for your stay.

03
Next Destination

Travellers continuing to another country should have the appropriate entry facilities for that destination.

Before You Fly

Don't Forget the SG Arrival Card

The SG Arrival Card is a separate arrival requirement and should not be confused with a Singapore entry visa.

What Singapore SG Arrival Card
When Submit Within 3 Days, Including the Day of Arrival
Important SG Arrival Card Is Not a Visa
Visa-free travellers also need to check SG Arrival Card requirements.

Being exempt from a Singapore tourist visa does not automatically exempt a traveller from the SG Arrival Card requirement. Applicable travellers should complete the arrival declaration within the required period before entering Singapore.

Health Requirement

Yellow Fever Certification May Apply

Some travellers may need a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate depending on the countries they have recently visited or transited through.

Check your recent travel route, not only your UAE residence.

Yellow fever requirements are linked to travel history and applicable health rules. Travellers who have recently been in relevant yellow-fever-risk areas should check the current Singapore requirements before departure.

Visa Validity vs Stay

Your Visa Validity Does Not Determine How Long You Can Stay

Singapore makes an important distinction between an entry visa and the Visit Pass granted after immigration clearance.

Visa Allows You to Travel to Singapore and Seek Entry
At Immigration ICA Determines Whether You Are Admitted
Length of Stay Shown on Your Electronic Visit Pass — e-Pass
An approved Singapore visa does not guarantee entry.

The final decision on admission and the permitted duration of stay is made by Singapore immigration officers at the checkpoint.

How valid should my passport be?

Visitors should generally have at least six months' passport validity when entering Singapore. Visa applications also require a passport biodata copy meeting the applicable validity requirement.

No. The SG Arrival Card is an arrival declaration and is separate from the Singapore entry visa. Applicable travellers should submit it within three days, including the day of arrival, before entering Singapore.

How long can I stay in Singapore?
