Thailand e-Visa From the UAE

No Regular Embassy Submission — The Application Is Online

Thailand introduced its e-Visa system for UAE-based applicants from 1 January 2025. Applicants who require a visa now complete the visa application electronically.

Application Complete Your Visa Application Online
Documents Upload the Required Supporting Documents
Result Approved e-Visa Confirmation Is Sent Electronically
You must apply while you are in the UAE.

UAE-based applications submitted while the applicant is physically in Thailand or another country outside the UAE may not be considered by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Online Application Process

How the Thailand e-Visa Application Works

01
Create & Complete

Create an account and complete the applicable Thai e-Visa application form with your personal and travel information.

02
Upload & Pay

Upload the required supporting documents and complete the applicable online visa payment.

03
Receive e-Visa

After approval, the e-Visa confirmation document is issued electronically to the applicant.

Important Application Rule

Check Every Detail Before You Submit

Your name, passport number, nationality, dates and other information should match your supporting documents exactly.

Submitted information cannot simply be corrected afterward.

The Royal Thai Embassy advises applicants to carefully check all information before submission. Errors or discrepancies may result in refusal, and a new application and new non-refundable visa fee may be required.

Do You Need a Thailand Visa?

Check Your Passport Before Applying

Thailand has visa-exemption and Visa on Arrival arrangements for eligible passport holders. A tourist visa should therefore not automatically be sold to every traveller.

Visa Exemption Eligible Nationalities Can Travel Without a Prior Tourist Visa
Visa on Arrival Available to Eligible Passport Holders Under the Applicable Scheme
Visa Required Other Travellers Must Obtain the Applicable Visa Before Travel
UAE Passport Holders

UAE Citizens Currently Qualify for Thailand Visa Exemption

Ordinary UAE passport holders are currently included in Thailand's visa-exemption scheme for eligible short tourism visits.

UAE residence is different from UAE nationality.

Foreign nationals living in the UAE must check the Thailand visa rules for their own passport nationality. Holding a UAE residence visa or Emirates ID does not automatically give the same visa exemption available to UAE citizens.

UAE Residence Evidence

Prove That You Are Currently Based in the UAE

For UAE-based e-Visa applications, the Royal Thai Embassy requires evidence showing the applicant's current location in the UAE.

Option 1 Valid UAE Residence Visa
Option 2 Valid Emirates ID
Purpose Evidence of Current Stay in the UAE
Travel Booking

Confirmed Round-Trip Flights Are Required

The Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi currently requires confirmed round-trip travel booking evidence for Thai e-Visa applicants submitting from the UAE.

Arrival Confirmed Flight Into Thailand
Departure Confirmed Return / Round-Trip Flight
Consistency Travel Dates Should Match Your Accommodation
Accommodation

Show Where You Will Stay in Thailand

Accommodation evidence should correspond with the dates and itinerary shown in your travel booking.

01
Hotel Stay

Prepare hotel booking evidence covering the applicable period of your Thailand trip.

02
Private Host

If staying with family or friends, prepare the applicable invitation and host accommodation information.

03
Matching Dates

Accommodation information should be consistent with your confirmed travel booking and declared itinerary.

Additional Requirements

The Embassy May Ask for More Information

The documents required can vary according to visa category, nationality, applicant profile and the information provided in the application.

01
Additional Documents

The Embassy may request further evidence to support the purpose, circumstances or credibility of the application.

02
Financial Evidence

Financial documents may apply according to the selected visa category or may be requested during assessment.

03
Interview

The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to request an in-person interview in Abu Dhabi.

Do UAE citizens need a Thailand tourist visa?

Ordinary UAE passport holders are currently included in Thailand's visa-exemption scheme for eligible short tourism visits, subject to the current immigration conditions.

Is a UAE residence visa enough to enter Thailand without a visa?

No. UAE residence and UAE nationality are different. Foreign UAE residents must check the visa rule applicable to the passport they will use for travel.

How do I apply for a Thailand tourist visa from the UAE?

Applicants who require a Thai visa and are currently in the UAE must submit their application online through Thailand's official e-Visa system.

Can I submit my Thailand visa application at the Embassy?

Normal visa applications from UAE-based foreign nationals are no longer accepted in person at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai. The application is submitted online through the e-Visa system.

How valid should my passport be?

The Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi currently requires applicants to have a passport with at least six months validity from the intended date of entry into Thailand.

Do I need my UAE residence visa or Emirates ID?

Do I need bank statements?

Financial evidence depends on the selected tourist visa category and the applicant's circumstances. Applicants should follow the document list generated for their visa category, and the Embassy may request additional financial documents during assessment.

Do I need an employment NOC?

An employment NOC should not automatically be treated as a universal requirement for every Thai tourist e-Visa applicant. Employment or other supporting evidence may apply according to the visa category and individual application.

Applicants using the UAE e-Visa jurisdiction should be physically present in the UAE when applying. Applications submitted while the applicant is in Thailand or another country outside the UAE may be rejected.

What happens if I make a mistake in my e-Visa application?

Applicants should carefully verify all information before submission. The Embassy advises that submitted information cannot simply be modified by the Embassy, and errors may result in rejection and the need for a new application and fee.

Is the Thailand visa fee refundable?

No. Thai e-Visa application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, including where an application is refused.

What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?

The TDAC is Thailand's electronic arrival declaration for foreign travellers. It is separate from a tourist visa and contains passport, travel, accommodation and applicable health declaration information.

When should I complete the TDAC?

Foreign travellers should submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within three days before arrival, including the date of arrival.

Do children need a TDAC?

Yes. Thailand's Immigration Bureau states that all travellers, including infants and children, require a TDAC where the requirement applies.

Does an approved Thailand e-Visa guarantee entry?

No. A visa allows you to travel to Thailand and seek admission. Final entry is determined by Thai immigration authorities at the border or airport.

Does Garnet Tourism guarantee Thailand visa approval?

No. Garnet Tourism provides travel-document, itinerary and general visa application assistance only. Final visa decisions are made solely by the competent Thai authorities.
